By continuous investment and improvement we work on mitigating our climate impact

We continuously work to mitigate our climate impact by reducing energy consumption, increasing the use of renewable energy, and increasing circularity of our products and in operations. We continuously improve the efficiency of logistics and transport. We reduce, reuse or recycle materials, reduce waste and handle hazardous waste properly. For facilities, installations and vehicle fleet, we invest in energy efficient products, services and design for energy performance improvement.

Energy efficiency

In Boels group there are wide range of different activities and initiatives in place or under development to reduce energy usage in our operations. Through investments in buildings, such as smart measuring technologies, we were able to increase their energy efficiency performance. During 2023 and 2024 our focus has been on our real estate portfolio to increase energy efficiency and sustainable solutions (e.g. LED, solar panels, battery packs etc.) at both our existing and new properties.

To reduce CO2 emissions, additional targets are set to increase the share of renewable electricity. Renewable energy is available through supplier contracts or through purchase of Green Certificates. We believe that energy saving behavior and awareness of our employees plays huge role in energy reduction.

Therefore, we focus on continuous internal communication in different channels. We have carried out campaigns, trainings and energy audits, and we actively use social intranet pages for sharing best practices and energy saving tips.
