Boels Group has published its Sustainability Report 2025. This report outlines how sustainability is embedded in the company’s strategy, our day-to-day operations and collaboration with customers, employees, suppliers and partners.
Sustainability is embedded across Boels’ operations. From safe working and training to electrification, reducing energy use, more efficient logistics and responsible procurement. The report highlights what we have achieved so far, what we are working on now and which targets guide our next steps.
Our focus areas
Our sustainability framework consists of the following focus areas:
Environment
We are working to reduce our environmental impact through our transition plan, 2030 targets and long-term goal of net zero emissions by 2050. The report outlines progress across energy use, fleet electrification, emissions, logistics and waste. Key actions include increasing fleet electrification, improving energy efficiency, expanding renewable electricity use and reducing mixed waste.
Social: Customers
We support customers with safe, efficient and more sustainable rental solutions. We do this through high-quality equipment, digital solutions and practical support. In 2025, we further developed customer portals such as MyBoels, MyRiwal and SmartControl, continued investing in fleet electrification and expanded safety training. We provided external safety training to more than 28,000 participants and aim to increase participation by 30% by 2030.
Social: Employees
Safety is central to how we work. Our ambition is clear: zero accidents. We strengthen our safety culture through training, awareness and clear procedures that help employees assess risks and act safely. In 2025, Boels held the third edition of Safety Week under the slogan “Together for safety, every day”. The report also gives more insight into HR focus areas such as employee development, performance, training, absenteeism and turnover.
Governance
We make progress clear and manageable through governance. We strengthen our approach through certified ISO Management Systems, policies, audits, and due diligence processes through inspections and reviews. We also work with documents such as our Code of Conduct, Anti-Corruption and Anti-Bribery Policy and ESG Due Diligence Report. These frameworks support responsible decision-making, risk management and continuous improvement across the organisation.
Measurable progress
In 2025, Boels Group achieved EcoVadis Bronze status. Several Boels Group entities also received their national EcoVadis ratings, including Gold status for Cramo Sweden and Boels Belgium. Boels Group and its subsidiaries also hold several ISO certificates. These external assessments enhance the transparency and measurability of sustainability-related processes, while also validating our ongoing efforts to improve sustainability performance.
Moving forward, step by step
Rental plays an important role in enabling more efficient use of machines, equipment and resources. Boels extends the lifecycle of its equipment by combining rental with careful maintenance and reuse. This keeps equipment in use for longer, reduces waste and emissions, uses materials more efficiently and helps preserve value. This is how we make sustainable rental work in practice. Step by step, together with our customers, colleagues, suppliers and partners.
