Cramo has inaugurated a new logistics center in Jordbro, near Stockholm, to support the expansion of the city’s subway system. This center will serve as a central hub for coordinating and distributing materials and resources to the project’s eight main construction sites.
In April 2024, Region Stockholm assigned Cramo AB the responsibility for all coordination and logistics related to the new subway infrastructure project. This expansion represents the region’s largest investment in public transportation since the 1970s, aiming to enhance travel options and meet future public transit needs. Cramo AB is tasked with coordinating materials and personnel, as well as managing 15 primary contractors.
The logistics center is designed to optimize the flow of construction materials and equipment to the subway’s construction sites, reducing unnecessary transportation within Stockholm’s inner city. This approach minimizes environmental impact and enhances project safety. Additionally, the center will function as a gathering point for contractors and construction personnel, offering modern facilities for planning and coordinating work.
The subway expansion is expected to continue until 2030. Cramo’s responsibilities also include acting as the construction work environment coordinator and providing office and break facilities for up to 1,000 people, including security and surveillance services.
