Reliable service, versatile equipment and a solution-oriented mentality were the keys to this successful collaboration with wind turbine manufacturer Muehlhan. Over the past few months, German company Muehlhan has installed a new wind turbine in Diest, Belgium. Boels Rental played an important role in this project, resulting in an extremely satisfied customer.
Boels and Muehlhan are certainly no strangers. The two companies have been working together in Germany for years now. The link with Boels in Belgium was established through the German sides of both companies in the run-up to the installation of the 123-metre-high wind turbine. Boels Area Manager Lincy Millet was responsible for this project and was the point of contact for Muehlhan on behalf of Boels Rental. That started with the very first meeting and continued until every piece of equipment had been collected and all the administration was completed. Lincy has all the experience needed for this kind of project. A few weeks before the start of the project in Diest, she had been working together with a colleague from Muehlhan on another windmill project in Belgium.
Understanding what a project like this requires
‘What makes Boels truly exceptional in energy projects like the one in Diest is its combination of reliable service, extensive product range, proactive mentality and understanding of customers working in the wind turbine construction industry. The extensive range of equipment and tools from Boels is perfectly suited to the requirements of large-scale energy projects such as installing wind turbines. On top of that, Boels not only offers the right equipment, but also the expertise, decisiveness and flexibility needed to keep everything running safely and on time,’ Lincy explains.

Complete care
This view was echoed by Natalia Jaworek, Senior Project and Logistics Coordinator from Muehlhan. ‘Without Boels, we could not have achieved the success we did in Diest. They took care of everything for us, from our first request for the most essential equipment, to our enquiry about waste recycling. I’m very happy that we have the opportunity to work with a company like Boels, where we can build on a large and extensive fleet and exceptional customer service.’
Boels has the right mindset
Working (together) in this branch requires the right partners, not only when it comes to expertise, but also in terms of mindset. A flexible attitude is crucial, Natalia explains. ‘We work with large, very bulky objects at heights that can change every day due to weather conditions. That’s why we look for companies that understand the situation, which can sometimes be quite frustrating as we are very aware. All the more fantastic that we have found a partner in Boels who we can turn to quickly, who is easy to reach and who has a proven understanding of the field.’
Trust is the key to our success
The ease of doing business with Boels and the importance of trust were two factors that Natalia emphasized. ‘Being able to rely on a partner like Boels is crucial to our success. We simply cannot do our job without the right equipment that we can deploy safely and professionally. That’s why it’s so important to work with a company like Boels. We know that their equipment is always in working order. If something goes wrong, they immediately come up with a solution. Even if it’s outside of their expertise, they still make sure our project stays on schedule.’
Here, Natalia is referring to a question about waste containers that she asked Lincy. ‘We had already been discussing units, aerial work platforms and telehandlers when the question of waste containers popped up. Although we don’t offer that, I immediately contacted Renewi and ordered the containers,’ Lincy says.
Natalia adds: ‘I was surprised with how quickly a solution was found. That was just great. Communication is very important in this. I feel heard, I saw that a solution would be found quickly and that gave me peace of mind. This strengthened the feeling of trust and contributed to the success of the project. That’s what it’s all about in the end.’
“It is truly an advantage that Boels has such an extensive product range and plenty of available equipment. We can go to them for virtually everything. That makes our job much easier”
Successfully completed from A-Z
The project is now complete. The 123-metre-high wind turbine with 75-metre blades is in operation, saving 6,300 tonnes of CO2. Everything went according to plan. Both ladies can now look back on a successful project.
‘Absolutely! It’s great to work on behalf of Boels on such major projects. We know exactly how to support companies like Muehlhan so they can perform well,’ says Lincy. ‘And as to whether it was a success,’ adds Natalia. ‘Everything ran smoothly. We are extremely satisfied. The expertise of our team and our collaboration with Boels was an enormous help in that. We look forward to future projects together!’
