Boels Rental is the first company in the Benelux and Germany where you can hire a mobile charging station for electrical machinery. The Load Balancer, as the charger is known by, has nine reels that each have a length of ten metres. This means you can charge nine machines at the same time.
Building more sustainably
Our sustainability ambitions are filtering through to the construction site, where more and more battery-powered machines are being used. The problem at the moment is that they are often plugged into any available socket for recharging. This leads to peak loads that are sometimes so high that the fuses of one or more groups blow. The result: empty or only partially charged batteries, limiting work performance.
The Load Balancer automatically regulates the distribution of electrical power equally across all active cable reels. If one of the power points threatens to overload, the load balancer temporarily shuts down that cable reel. The smart charging system helps to guarantee the power supply and ensures that all connected machines are fully charged. LED indicators let you know which cables are receiving power.
To measure is to know
Construction sites never shut down completely these days; electrical machines are used during the day and recharged at night. The power supply is controlled and maintained by means of remote monitoring systems. This not only gives real-time insights into performance and consumption, it also contributes to a more sustainable and efficient building site set-up. “Data allows us to keep track of everything remotely. Is there an energy surplus, for example, or is a battery pack not running at full capacity? Such insights improve follow-up actions, such as sending a technician or avoiding an unnecessarily long charging time for a particular machine,” says Harm Munsters Manager Fleet & Maintenance Netherlands at Boels Rental.
The Load Balancer 32A 9x 230V is available for hire now. The charging station carries the ECO label for sustainable machines and tools. Products with the ECO label have lower CO2 emissions and produce less noise and vibration. They also meet the highest standards for safety and user-friendliness.
