Boels Rental and its Scandinavian subsidiary Cramo are launching a digital marketplace for the sale of used machines. This platform will give customers access to a wider range of second-hand equipment, including heavier construction equipment. The platform will simplify international trade and make our sales range accessible to a bigger sales market.
Joint stock for a wider range of products
Boels and Cramo are the two biggest rental companies in Europe. By joining forces to develop a digital platform, a shared stock will be created and customers worldwide will benefit from a wide range of high-quality machines and tools. More than 30,000 well-maintained, A-brand construction machines are currently being sold through various sales markets and channels. This figure will increase as a result of the two companies’ joint efforts and the growing amount of stock available online.
It will promote the circular economy by extending the life of used rental machines
Multichannel accessibility strategy
Customers will have direct access to the digital marketplace through the joint website of the two rental companies To promote equipment sales, the range will also be advertised on the tools and large-equipment auction websites of European partners. On these sales channels, buyers will be able to place bids during a set period and the highest bidder will win. Boels will use this new approach to reinforce its ‘multichannel strategy’, by giving customers access to its extensive product range via various channels. This will promote transparency and ensure that prices are competitive. Customers will be able to find the best price for them by comparing prices on different platforms.
An environmentally-friendly product range
Boels wants to do its bit to make a greener future a reality by continuously expanding its range of environmentally-friendly, battery-powered machines and tools. Its growing rental range will ultimately make the sales range more diverse and extensive too. In this way, the rental company will make it possible for more and more customers to work sustainably.
“We are very excited about the launch of the digital marketplace: an innovative platform where our customers will be able to source high-quality used equipment. The marketplace will be an extension of our commitment to sustainability. It will promote the circular economy by extending the life of used rental machines. The marketplace will enable us to take an important step towards a sustainable rental sector,” says Bart van Son, the Head of Trade at Boels Rental.
