Boels Rental is the first company in Europe to have zero-emission solar lighting towers on trailers in its rental range. These lighting towers were already available as a stationary lighting tower, but not yet on a trailer. The 4x60W LED solar lighting towers of Boels get their power from the sun’s energy. That’s why Boels has given them the Boels ECO label of sustainable rental machines and tools.
Adding the new zero-emission solar lighting towers on trailers to its rental range fits seamlessly with Boels’ sustainability mission. Under the motto ‘orange is the new green’, zero emission equipment of the rental specialist play an essential role in reaching various sustainability targets. “We continually invest in sustainable solutions. We are therefore able to respond quickly to new market developments,” says Harm Munsters, Manager Fleet & Maintenance Netherlands.

No more unwelcome emissions and noise
The 4x60W LED Solar Lighting Tower is equipped with solar panels (3x305W), allowing the solar tower to light up an event or construction site without any C02 emissions by harnessing the sun’s energy. And if the sun isn’t shining, the tower can be charged with a 2kVA inverter. The lighting tower has a large illumination area and can be dimmed in four different strengths.
At its lowest setting (25% dimming), the zero-emission tower can provide light for up to 365 days without recharging. It also produces no carbon, no noise, no fumes and no air pollution. One solar-powered lighting tower saves an average of 1.3kg of CO2 an hour compared to fossil fuels.
“We have further developed the lighting towers, so that they meet the wide-ranging requirements of our customers. Both ease of use and transport have been improved. For example, we installed an IoT system that allows remote monitoring,” Munsters explains. “The zero-emission lighting towers are ideal for (large) events, construction sites, security purposes and any other application where lighting is required.”
Largest range of ECO machines
Boels has the largest range of zero emission, hybrid and Stage V machines. Boels continues to expand its ECO range. In both numbers and new zero-emission and low-emission machines and tools. The ECO label helps customers recognise sustainable machines and tools in the Boels fleet. With this label, customers are assured that they are renting battery, electric or hybrid environmentally friendly machines that contribute to emission-free work.
