Expansion of specialist pump rental
Sittard, 24 January 2022 – Boels Rental acquires “Eekels Pompen”: the leading specialist in pump rental and advice. Established in 1914, “Eekels Pompen” can build on more than 100 years of experience in pumps. Companies in almost every industry benefit from their expert knowledge, wide product range and 24/7 service. The company was part of the holding of family Reigwein, which also owns the RECO Group. It employs over 60 people and has 3 branches in the Netherlands.
Leading specialist in pump solutions
To supplement its General Rental services, Boels Rental started 10 years ago with setting up Special Rental divisions such as Power & HVAC, Industrial, Traffic Control and Site Accommodation. With the takeover of “Eekels Pompen”, Boels can now add pump rental to its specialist divisions.

Anchoring growth
“Eekels Pompen” had previously been taken over by family Reigwein, owners of RECO Group, in 2015 to help the company realise sustainable growth. After achieving outstanding operational results, the group decided a new partner was needed to facilitate further growth of the pump specialist. “In order to expand, the ambitions of Eekels are best secured with an international group like Boels Rental. We are proud of the entire team at “Eekels Pompen” and foresee a bright future”, says Rob and Robin Reigwein.
According to Pierre Boels, growth is assured at Boels Rental. “This acquisition offers both parties opportunities for further expansion. What’s more, the expertise on water management in the Netherlands is unrivalled. And innovative water management calls for specialist pumps,” he explains. “With over a quarter of our country sitting below sea level, it’s safe to say that this specialist knowledge is right here in the Netherlands.”
