In 2019, Boels Portable Kitchens completed a temporary canteen in Bissen, Luxembourg, in collaboration with modular construction company Multigone. A long-lasting collaboration has now blossomed out of this first successful project as partners. We take a look back with Sven Kuhnen, Account Manager at Boels Portable Kitchens and Patrick Neuman, Owner of Multigone.
Temporary canteen
Patrick explains what was involved in the project: “IEE, an engineering company for electronics in the automotive sector, had an entirely new building but was missing a canteen. That was going to take another three years. A temporary facility for 100 users a day was needed to bridge that gap.” Boels Portable Kitchens was able to offer a turnkey solution, Sven explained. “Through optimised cooperation within our divisions, we were able to offer the customer a total customised solution. This canteen required a number of

Technical challenges
Technically speaking, getting our containers in place here was a major operation, Sven recounted. “A lot had to be coordinated between Boels, Multigone, the Ministry of the Economy in Luxembourg, the construction company and Paul Wurth. The biggest challenge was making sure the ground surface was right. This was due to height differences of up to 50 centimetres. We first has to create an even surface. In addition to that, we also needed special power units to supply our temporary kitchen with electricity
