Completely new enclosures for the lions and tigers. A renovated savannah for the giraffes and zebras. Two new attractions plus restaurant. Bellewaerde Park in Ypres, Belgium, underwent a major expansion last winter. Boels contributed to this massive development by supplying the machines and equipment needed.
Tropical heating thanks to the heaters
Our equipment was not only used for the construction work. Thanks to Boels, the giraffes could also stay warm during the cold winter months. Heaters were used to warm up the temporary enclosure for the giraffes to a constant temperature of 18 degrees. At the same time, everyone continued working hard on the massive building site to complete all the renovations.
Complete range of rental machines and fast delivery
The size of the project and the highly diverse activities required a large number of different machines. Boels provided everything from scissor lifts and telescopic boom lifts to mobile scaffolding, passenger lifts and mini excavators. Account Manager Niels Dezwarte: “We’ve been working with Bellewaerde Park for quite some time now and we supply equipment on a regular basis. However, this project was so huge that we coordinated the entire approach and planning in great detail in advance to ensure that the machines needed could be arranged at the right times.”
